I Have Been Inspired....

to Summerize our Master Bedroom.
So many of you have such wonderful ideas
and I finally have been bitten by the bug!

This little wicker tray holds a Rose themed pitcher
my mother gave me one year,
along with a crocheted doiley she made for me.
I also used one my little embroidered tea napkins
I purchased at my last estate sale and then of course
a few fun magazines are needed just in case!

I just fell In Love with this sign when I purchased it
and knew right where it belonged!

I have had these plates on this pretty green ribbon for a few years
and could never really find the right place for them....
I think I finally did!

I found this little quilt set at a local department store,
it is really light weight and comfortable in these extremely warm
temps we are having. I was happy to see it in my color scheme
with the deep plums and soft khaki color. My walls are sort of a
goldish color, remember wall magic? Well, my oldest daughter painted
them for me not long after we moved here about 9 yrs ago
(which would have made her about 12 yrs old). And the curtains
are a deep plum color. We get all morning, early morning sun, so they help with
being able to sleep in a bit longer on the summer weekends!

Who doesn't need that!

So that is what I have been working on the last few days.
I really am pleased with how it turned out!
Thanks for stopping by,
I really appreciate all of the kind comments you all leave!
Please stop by again!

I almost forgot, the table at the end of the bed was made by my husband and it is mission style made from cherrywood!

Sorry about the blurry pictures, that happens to me sometimes!

She's Got The Right Idea....

You can see it in her eyes!
It's going to be in the 80's around here today.

So why not just lay down and let it happen!

That's her plan!

Better yet, why not under the gazebo on the nice cool cement!
Ahhhh....this is nice!

It's A Garden Party!....

This was the mailbox on our house before we started renovating. So I thought....What a great planter! My husband made the sign, it's been here for several seasons, as you can tell!
I purchased this little Welcome Gate at an art festival.

We've had this statue for years. There is actually a birdbath that fits on top, but it fell off one year and it's quite heavy so with kids around I felt it was safer to leave it off.
She's still pretty!

I just love Gerbera Daisies!
And my swing!

This is a Wiegalia Bush. I won it at a plant walk at our annual Labor Day Celebration. It was real small when I won it about 3 years ago. It has continuous blooms that are just beautiful!

A birdhouse I bought at another art festival and had my husband put it up on a post.

~Dwarf yellow Iris~

A new planter box I purchased for our "Backdoor Guests"!

~Rhododendron~

My front walk hanging basket of Geraniums.

And this is the mailbox I purchased this past Saturday at an estate sale for .25 cents.
I hung it on the opposite side of the yard to finish my
Garden Tours!
I hope you enjoyed the tour! Please come back again anytime!

Saturday Estate Sale....

My husband and I got up to go to the "Rock" yard this morning, (project to be seen at a later date), then we stopped at our local coffee shop and purchased coffee's. We started on our way and immediately saw an Estate Sale sign....so of course I just had to have him pull over. Apparently it was being held by the granddaughter's of this elderly couple, needless to say I believe I came away with some great finds once again!

This picture is quite large and was only $5.00. My husband even commented on what the story is behind the picture. Did the couple buy it at the local dime store years ago for just a small amount of money, was it a gift?, did the wife just fall in love with this picture and had to have it, so the husband purchased it for his dear wife?.....
Do you ever wonder what the story is behind something you purchase?

Then I came upon this sweet calendar towel and the "granddaughter" said to me they found it up in a box when they were going thru things, still folded and in perfect condition.

As you can see it is dated 1963 (the year I was born)
and it has this sweet little saying.
You know I had to have this!

I also found these lovely vintage scarves. I thought I would tie this fun green one on my yellow purse. And this brown one is sooo soft and silky with roses, it's quite lovely!

This apron was also a purchase, modeled by my lovely Hillary,
along with the dish towel, another vintage find!

Then I came upon this sweet crochet edged white pillow case,
it may even be called tatted (sp?), almost pristine white.
I couldn't leave that now could I!

Along with these delicate hand embroidered tea napkins and one very delicate yellow napkin/doily. I see myself using these when friends or sisters are over for ice tea or coffee and homemade bread. The time taken to make these things must have been cherished moments. Maybe she was a busy mom herself and this was her time to herself.
What story these things could tell!
All of the linens were purchased for $1.00!!

Then my husband who was outside in the garage found a bag full of tools and wanted to show me something in the garage. I found this mailbox for .25 cents (I'll show you what this will be later in a post). The we continued on to our original destination the "Rock" yard and purchased what we needed for that project and when we got back home my husband, who loves to cook, made me this fabulous lunch while I took pictures for this blog.
I love this man!

~Panini Sandwich's~

He has the same, but obviously didn't want to share his, ha,ha,ha!
What a fun Saturday we spent together, both doing something we love!
How did you spend your Saturday?

I Enjoy Feeding The Birds.....

I purchased this at a thriftstore for $4.99 I believe.
The birds love it and the squirrels can't get to it.
A great buy and it is a very heavy metal!
