My hubby and I went down to celebrate his Mom's 81st birthday with her on Saturday!
Weather wise it was a bit gloomy....pouring rain to be exact. We spent awhile with his parent's and I helped her put up a window scarf she has been wanting up for awhile.
Shame on us for just getting down to do that for her!
Anyway, on the way back we stopped at a shop, not really a thrift store or an antique store, but let's call it a flea market type store. Anyway, I am really into Fall right now and have to have anything that screams pumpkins and such!
I found this metal Currier & Ives Autumn scene tray.
LOVE it! And it was only $2.00!
It also brings back alot of memories for me! My Mom loved Currier & Ives and had several things, as I remember, when I was growing up. I wonder what happened to them?
I will be asking Dad next time I am down there.
Oh Lisa Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteNow this plate is just beautiful. I have always loved Currier and Ives. I think it is because to me it says, "Country". I love all of their stuff so American.
What a deal for $2.00. I would say you definitely got one heck of a bargain sweet friend.
Hope you have a beautiful day. Country hugs and much love, Sherry
What another great find, Lisa...LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteYes, another great find! I love Currier and Ives, as well. My four prints of each season became so faded that I just had to toss them...with great reluctance. Hope you find good news about your mother's collection.
ReplyDeleteLucky you. The tray is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWow! That house could almost be mine! SO similar!
ReplyDeleteReally Lisa! We must try to make contact and meet one day soon this fall! Go into my profile and find the email button. I don't see one in yours...but, pretty sure I have one in mine. Please? Pretty please? :0)
I love your new find, lovely autumn illustration!
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa I just love it! So special that it reminds you of your mom.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tray! I love those Currier & Ives tins too.
