Just Thoughts....

Letting your children grow up is hard to do!
Letting them make their own mistakes is even harder!
Making them responsible for those mistakes....
well, I'm still learning that!

  1. Yes, yes, and yes - you are right! Been there -still doing that. For some reason, I thought that once they were grown I would "let up" a little. Ha! I don't think so! Have a blessed week! Sandi

  2. My son is only three, but I'm sure I'll be learning this more and more as he grows up! Just saw your rock border on your pathway - love it!

  3. Am I ever learning this. Teen years are a LOT of fun, but letting them MAKE their own mistakes is so hard to do.

  4. Lisa,
    I don't have kids, but I remember something my mom told me as I left for college my freshman year. "I've raised you the best I know how....maybe not the BEST, but the best that "I" knew how. If you make mistakes NOW, they are your OWN MISTAKES, and YOU will be the one who has to fix them.
    Well, I went off to school, partied, lost my scholarship and had to move back home, work and pay the rest of my way through school myself. I did it and I'm proud that my mom backed up what she said. It let me learn that I'm smart enough to fix my own mistakes.
    I think if you give your kids a good foundation, they may make mistakes along the way, but they will also find a way to fix them.

  5. Yes, Lisa it is! It is! {{{Lisa}}}}
    (Still hoping we can figure out a way to connect further!)

  6. Oh, girl, I hear you!

I would enjoy hearing from you!
