It's A Mystery....

and I am very sad!

~before~

~after~

I have literally had this statue long enough that the dog could walk around it in the dark and nothing would happen to it. I do not know what happened and no one has said a thing to me.
Odd that I found the body in the standing position!
I am not a "huge" statue fan....for the most part, but this did remind me of my youngest daughter when I purchased it about 7 or 8 years ago.
Maybe there is a way to fix it!

  1. Goop.

It could glue a dog to a bathtub.

    Accidentally...of course.

  3. Aw, that is sad. Maybe some super glue could fix it.

  4. I went out 2 weeks ago to check on my 2 statues, & the one has chunks of the finish laying on the ground but she, like yours, still stands. Could be age ... how do I 'follow' you, I don't see a way on your blog to do this.

  5. Aw, how sad. I know this was special to you, I remember you mentioned it's likeness to your daughter in an earlier post. It looks as if she "fell" forward right onto the rock. Where is her little bucket? I hope she can be mended. Try Gorilla Glue. My hubby swears by it. Just make sure whatever you use is suitable for outdoors. I'm sure the Depot will have something.

  6. hmmmm....what a mystery...especially since the statue is still (or placed) up and standing. Do you have a yard man? My yard man is famous for breaking yard art. ARGGHGHGHG....:)
Hope you have a great weekend!

  7. Oh I'm sorry. I'm sure it was an accident. Start gluing...maybe you can resurrect it.

  8. I would definitely try the glue trick.

  9. I would glue it and see if it holds. I hate when something I love breaks!

  10. Hi...I wanted to stop by and say hi. I noticed you follow my blog. Thank you.
I am so sorry about your figurine. I definately would try to fix it. I have several in my yard and I hope they don't break, although they are getting old and more brittle. Good luck with yours and I hope you visit my blog again soon.

  11. That is so sad! It survived all that time and then broke. I found your blog through a few friends blogs and am so glad! It is wonderful! Have a great weekend!

  12. Well, that really doesn't look like an age break..because the arm is broken off also. Looks like someone accidently (possibly) hit it with something...then stood what was left back up. Odd. You may never know. If it were me..and of course it isn't, :) I would somehow glue that statue back together, no matter how badly it looks...bit by bit..and stand it back exactly where it was.
Then I would hire the statue police to stand guard secretly and see who comes and takes a peek and tip toes softly away...peering furtively over their little criminal shoulder to see if anyone is watching them. Then I would have them arrested toss their "statue breaking" little bods into ...well...never mind. You get my point. :)
Naw...you'll never, ever, in a million years know who broke it. Still....

    Have a wonderful Sunday!
