Good Morning!
I'm having trouble lately coming up with anything that
might be remotely interesting to the few readers I have.
So, I either don't post at all and lose people....
or I post about mundane things and hope someone out there
finds the little I have to say or show with pictures
interesting to at least leave a
Hi back!
I do appreciate those of you that at least say
Hi!

I know comments shouldn't be important....
but I think we all really do enjoy opening our blogs in the morning
or evening and thru out the day
to see who may have stopped by to visit....
I sure do!

Lately I've just been trying to
~freshen things up~
around our Home.  This heat has me about worn down
trying to keep my Home in some order of cleanliness.
We do not have central air and some days it is miserable.
I'm sure a few of you out there know exactly what I mean.
So, I try to take advantage of what cool air there may be in the
early hours of the morning between 7:00 & 11:00 to do the most
important tasks: bed making, vacuuming, dishes....
you know what I mean.

It's hard at times to take time for myself....
like sit at my desk and come up with a post, check on
other blogs that I enjoy and try to get some motivation
to either post more, or to get cleaning around my Home.
You all seem to have it so together....
how do you do it?

I love my little space here!
It's messy and organized at the same time.
Funny how in your space you know where everything is.
I've made it comfortable for me.
I recently bought the pillow in the picture above at HomeGoods.
It is down filled and comfortable for my back on this hard chair.
The bird theme fits....
I had the choice of black or green.
Green fits into my color scheme so it was the obvious choice.

This morning I am enjoying a bit of
~Nutella & Peanut Butter~
on my toast along with my coffee.
Have you tried that?
It's a bit like eating a Reese's....
Yum!

My desk is positioned so I can look across the
family room and out the window
the sun is coming out and hitting the rock border just so
This picture doesn't do it justice, it's much prettier.
Notice the fan pointed in my direction....

 I found some
~burlap like~
wired ribbon the other day at WalMart.  I used it on the basket
on our front door (the first picture shown) and had enough left
to add a little something to this note holder above my desk.
I am still tweaking the wall space above my desk and trying to
not go over board where it looks cluttered.  Some of you out there
have arraignments on your walls down....
me not so much!

Again, loving anything birds like I do....
I found this ceramic bird at our local BIG box store
last weekend and couldn't resist adding him to my
collection of sorts.  He was clearanced, which my hubby
always appreciates.  Originally $19.99, marked down to $9.99
and I got him for something like $6.75....
He has a timer light in him...

 Every night about 9 p.m.
he starts to glow for about 4 hours.
Adds a bit of ambiance to the mantle....
Don't you think?

And of course I have my desk surrounded with
birds and things I love.

I'm glad you stopped by....
Thank you all who stick by me
I do enjoy your visits....
If you have made it this far with today's post....
Please say Hi....
Thanks again for your visit!
Have a lovely Last day of July....
can you believe it?

My Little Corner....

This is My little space....
when we repainted our room last fall
I claimed this corner to set up my desk.
I tweaked it today....
by that I mean cleaned up the mess that I had accumulated
I don't know about you but I have a paper problem.
I seem to collect piles of papers....
just in case I need them for some reason.
I Usually Don't!!

So this morning I got it looking like this....
which is clean for me!

I still have a desire to hang more stuff on the walls....
but, not sure what to do yet.
Hmm....
I have a file cabinet next to my desk, so I don't really need
hanging file space.  Although that could hold all my
papers I seem to think I need until I realize I don't!

and of course I like to have some of my
~Favorite Things~
right where I can see them....
Like this new little Birdie,
given to me by my new friend
~Bonnie~
Thanks Again My Friend
You've touched my Heart!!

 The sweet little
Keep Calm And Garden On sign
and the box of Birdie matches
was from my Hillary
for my Birthday, Thank you Hill!!
(still need to post about that ~my birthday~....it was The Best!)

 This space looks empty...
~to me~
but, then again I'm use to my laptop being Opened!

Yep, I love Birds
and Pretty Things
Like signs with Words....

What are some things you like around your
Special Spot?

Thanks for stopping by!

See Ya Next Year....

Those are the words you want to hear after you
go for your mammogram!

I was scheduled for an ultrasound first,
but when I was taken back to "the room"
the technician said she had a few questions first.

 It was kind of odd....
I thought anyway, first she asked me my last name,
it took me back to the days when my mom was ill
and they were checking to see how "sane" she was,
then she asked me my birth date....
again odd I thought,
then she asked me Why I was there for an ultrasound?

I explained my history of fibrocystic disease since the age of
15 and how the last 3-4 yrs after having a mammogram
being called back for an ultrasound and going thru all that worry
yada, yada, yada....

Well, she informed me...
IF they do an ultrasound ~without~ a "need" for one....
my insurance won't pay for it!!

You see they scheduled me for the ultrasound before the
mammogram....Not MY Fault!
So, she had to go back and speak to "the powers that be"
about 5 mins. later in she comes and said
they must first do the mammogram and then if there
was a need they would do the ultrasound.

Which meant.....
the radiologist would have to read my results
~right away~
(when it typically takes 2 wks)
to see if there was concern enough to do the ultrasound!

My mammogram was given a 10 min. time slot.
I was in there for 1/2 hour....
the most thorough, gentle, mammogram
I've ever had!

End result....
No ultrasound needed!
Now had I just gone for a mammogram with no
ultrasound scheduled as well....
I would have been called back in
~2 weeks~
and gone thru all that worry!

Funny how things happen sometimes!

Then hubby and I were going to meet up for dinner
but decided to just come Home and he would
pick up some steaks and grill out....
perfect night for a dinner for
2 on the porch!

 ~and a bottle of Wine~
Thank you honey!

At this time of year this is the coziest place
in our Home!

Hope your evening was as lovely as mine!

Thanks for all of your well wishes yesterday
and for stopping by for another visit!

Ahhh....

Finally some relief from the heat!
I don't know about where your at, but here
and for most of us, it has been miserable!

But, this morning it is cool and refreshing outside
so I decided to sit out on our porch and do a little post
about what we've been up to around here.

My hubby took from the 4th until today off from work.
I think he had plans to spend alot of time working on our shed.
But, because of the heat that didn't happen....
except for a few small things when it was somewhat cool enough.
I did get one project completed after months of  nagging patiently waiting.
I'll tell you about that in just a second. But, first I want to share
something with you that I finally found!

I mentioned in an earlier post when sprucing up our porch
that I wanted to hang this sign, but hubby won't let me put a nail
in our vinyl siding....
Well, I had heard of hangers in the past, but in asking
around at different home improvement stores,
none seemed to "know" what I was talking about.
Which surprised me with all the homes that are
sided with vinyl these days!

Anyway, as determined as I can be sometimes....
I Googled and lo and behold I found them!

Why it took me so long is beside me, but
I ordered them off ebay and within 2-3 days
they were here and I got my sign
~and a few other things~
hung!

~ NO hammer or nails required~
easy peasy!

Here is a close up of one....
sorry it's blurry!
You just slip that top hookie end up under the siding
and Wa La....
ready to hang something!

Now for the project I've been excited to get done!

I had mentioned in the past about wanting to have
a trellis put up behind my swing.  You can see the
pieces waiting on the floor directly behind it.
The hubby wasn't real excited with my  plan
and in fact said it wouldn't hold the Wisteria
gone wild all over my porch column....

But I begged and yes, Nagged enough!
So I painted them a very dark hunter green
and waited a few days and finally he surprised me
and hung them!

 I. Am. In. LOVE!!!!

No matter the angle it just makes the whole porch....

 In my opinion!
(hubby admits he likes it too)
That Wisteria really has gone crazy trying to
wind itself around everything.  It wound up
and around my porch swing chain and up to the ceiling....
But, it hasn't produced a bloom yet
and we've had it about 8 years!
If you have any advice please let me know!

This is the last I posted on our shed.
As I said hubby took those days off to work on it.
He has done alot since you've seen this picture and I
will do a post about that in the next few days.
I think you'll be impressed!

Today I have to go run some errands
and have my mammogram....
I had my physical last week and complained to
my doctor that I hate having them done
because I always get called back a few weeks out
to come in for an ultrasound because they have a "concern"!
I have fibrocystic disease....of course they are going to find something!
So, the doctor said she could request they do both today
because she has the same problem and it does cause concern
when you get that call.  Wish me luck as you never know!

Can't wait to get back Home and enjoy
my porch in this cooler weather
we are thankful to have right now!

Enjoy your day and Thanks for stopping by!

First....not sure what's going on,
but my Playlist is no longer "available" for MY enjoyment on my blog!
What happened, does anybody know?

So, this past week my camera broke.
So I have not taken the time to post anything new,
but I did have these last shots left on my camera
and finally have the time to share them with you.

I came out on our porch one day and out of the corner of my eye
I saw this Robin in the old terra cotta replacment birdbath
that I moved to this "yard art piece" my husband
welded together.  Luckily when I got back from running
inside and grabbing my camera he was still in there....

I was hoping to get a decent picture and
was afraid if I got too close he would fly away....

Remember this is what I used as a replacement when the original top
broke a few years ago.  It served the purpose!

 Then I moved it here....
just to have a place for it.

Little did I know, this Robin would
take his bath here.  Another one landed on  my
planter with my Hens & Chicks waiting for his chance.

If you've never seen a Robin take a bath....
they really get into it.  They flutter all over and flap their
wings.  It's kinda fun to watch!

I've only seen the birds land on this one for a little
drink of water.  No bathers yet!

Had a nice day in the yard with hubby working on the shed
and pool trying to get it in shape for the summer.
Hope you all had a delightful day!
Thanks for stopping and I'd love to hear what
you were up to this weekend!

Things are Happening Here....

Things that are at times heavy, emotionally that is! Things that I'm not ready to face, but somehow, at different levels are being forced to! Things that are out of my hands...now, and really shouldn't have been mine to handle to begin with!  Things that I should have control over, but don't and that frustrates me! Things that can't be shared....but, Oh how I'd like to!  Things that I need advice for...but, am handling with my own knowledge and beliefs! Things that are making me not the trusting person I was before!

But, Thankfully, I have a loving husband who is by my side and we are in this together
That is something I can handle and trust for sure!
