It's A Good Day!....

I was so surprised when I open my mailbox and found this issue!  I do get the seasonal Cottage Journals thru out the year.  I love them and they are so fun to pull out each season and set around the house to sit and take a peek at.  This is a new one, I don't believe it is one of the seasonal issues, because I already received my Winter issue last month.  I saw a new issue at the store yesterday and it was titled The Cottage Kitchen....I believe!  I almost bought it, thinking I would not receive this in the mail.  But, I slapped my hands and put it back!  I would have to go to the store to see if it is in fact the same issue.  But until I can do that, I am happy to stay Warm & Cozy sitting right here by the fire on this Wintry Day and take time to enjoy my new issue!

What are you doing to stay Warm & Cozy?

Berries, Burlap and Memories....

Hello, I'm so glad you stopped by for a little visit!
I've been getting out just a few of my Christmas decorations.
I decided this year I would be a little more subtle and not go
overboard and put out everything.  At one time I counted well over
100 Snowmen that I have collected and I typically put them
ALL out! But, not this year, only a very few on my entry table.

I don't know about where you're at, but it is in the
20's here....23 degrees as I'm typing this!
So, grab a warm cup of tea, cocoa or coffee and take a
look at a few of my Christmas decorations...

I put a few sprigs of our Christmas tree and some of the red berries
right at the front door to say Welcome....
~Seasons Greetings~

This is what we woke up to this morning....
I think there's about 3-4 inches out there

Here are the majority of the Snowmen I put out this year.
The Santa pictures are of our girls when they were small.
The one on the left is Amanda and Hillary, when Hill was
just a baby.  The one on the right is of Amanda and Mallory
when Mallory was just a baby.  At that point Hillary decided
she was having nothing to do with that Santa guy!

This is my vintage gallon jug I used in my fall decor.
I left the split peas in the bottom, but replaced the popcorn
with Red Hots for a bit of Christmas color.  The paper bag
wreath was made by one of the girls when they were real small
and I just sat the pine cones and red cardinal there for a bit of
Ummph!
I have a few of their handmade memories around the house!
That's what makes it special to me!

A few weeks ago I picked up this Snowman pillow at Goodwill!
It was in great shape and I Love Snowmen!

I know some of you out there have these cute little felt trees!
They fit perfectly in this window behind our tree.

I love seeing all that fresh snow on the
~Real Trees~
outside....

This is the tip top of our Christmas tree
We found a bunch of trees filled with red berries not too far
from our Home, so Brad picked a bunch for me and we stuck them
here and there in our tree.  Then we cut some of our burlap coffee bags
into strips and used it as garland.  The candy canes are pipe cleaners
just twisted into shape and the skates you see were Brad's grandma's.
More Memories!

This is our very first Christmas decoration!
The front is a Victorian couple on a sleigh, but for some reason this
year it is facing the other way.

Ice Cream decoration from my childhood....

This special Snowman was Brad's as a child.
It was a lighted decoration that caught on fire when he was
just a kid.  There is a small burn hole on the back side.  I have this
orange colored wax faux candle that I keep under this cloche.  So
I wrapped it in that pillow stuffing stuff and sat Frosty on the top,
Well, I just love it!

Hillary got me this Snowman candle holder last year for
Christmas.  I needed a new candle for the top and saw these
cute gel candles at Walmart.  I have it by my kitchen sink!
Love it!

Well, that's about it for my Christmas decor sharing for today.
I will be back in a day or two to share just a little more. Hope you
check back for a visit again!  Thanks for stopping....

I've been taking a break....

and this little guy has been visiting me!

Meet Jasper....
Amanda's 7 month old Golden-doodle!
Isn't he adorable?
and Smart I must say!
He has gotten so big.  She got him when he was just about
8 weeks or so.  Does he look spoiled?
Well, I let you guess....

I am going to try and get back into blogging.
I've been going around trying to get a good picture of
some of our Christmas decorations.
I prefer the night pictures of our tree and lighted decor,
just having a bit of trouble getting them to look like they
do in real person.

If you take a moment to say Hello,
I'll know you haven't forgotten me totally!
Hope to post something more a bit later today.
Take care and as always,
Thanks for stopping by!
