It's beginning to Smell a lot like Christmas....

Mallory didn't have school today.
I don't know if where your at you've had the
threats to your schools from the crazy people,
but about 50 schools in our area have
and decided to close for the day.

So we decided to start our baking!
It's snowy and blustery cold out so it is nice to
have the oven going and the
Yummy smells don't hurt either!

We have made just a few loaves of
Orange Cranberry Bread
and
Mint Chocolate Chip cookies!

I found some cute little bread tins
with Snowmen on them and the lids were included.
I added just a bit of Red ribbon and I had these
cute little cardboard tags with twine ties.

A bit of sugar sprinkled on top
makes it extra nice.

I also found these cute little bags that came with
real Red ribbon and a cute little bell tag.

Makes a nice little treat for someone Special!
Wish you all lived close by
I would drop a treat off for you!

How is your Holiday Home smelling today?
Yummy I'm sure!

Stay warm and cozy,
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Catch Up....

I've posted very little about my Christmas decorating this year.
The little I have posted has been
showing our tree laying on the floor.
Mostly....

and then again when we finally got it up
and wired to the wall.
Well, now it is decorated as well.
I went on the light side this year and only decorated
with one tote of ornaments.  Mostly those that have
special meaning in some way.
So I got some decent pictures and thought I would share.

The Lollipop is mine from a child.
The candy canes, Mallory and I made this year
from pipe cleaners.  Fun little craft!

Santa and Mrs. Claus were always on the tree
as a child and I inherited them. And then of course
I have decorations here and there that my girls made
That's Hillary there on the Christmas tree ornament
from 1st grade, she's now in College.

We went to my hubby's office Christmas party
last night and a few of the women were talking about
"needing" new decorations.  They have had their's for a
few years now and they were tired of them.
I've had mine for at least 29 yrs....
some longer, and I couldn't bare to get rid of them.
There's a memory tied to every one!

To me that's
Christmas!

 They each have a place....
These 3 guys were supposed to be a gift for my Mom
one year.  I just couldn't give them up!
Mom got another one from me instead.
I always think of that!

Sully just lays where ever he pleases.
Yes, he is a huge cat.  Heavy too.
I am in need of a larger tree skirt.  I would love to have something
made out of burlap.  We have had this tree skirt for about 24 yrs.
I will pass this down to a daughter at some point.  I have lots
of Christmas to pass down.  Not get rid of!
There is a difference!  My girls are starting to embrace
the "traditions" of decorating with memories.
Yes, they will have their own.  As have I.
But, mine also include some from my childhood.
And I wouldn't have it any other way!

What Christmas memories do you embrace every year?

There are No words!...

Only tears
and Prayers
for the families
that have lost their
Children
today!

Why?

My Heart goes out to each and everyone!

Everything's Right Again....

Well, almost....
the Angel's a little crooked.
But, we will get her fixed tonight.

At least the tree is standing, Right?

With a little help from some
green florist wire....
hidden behind the tree,
shhh
don't tell anyone please!

Now it's time to finish getting ready for
this guy....

 The Angel's are Singing....

 The Snow men People
are Rejoicing....

 Everybody is....

 Happy....

 Happy....

 Happy....

 Time to finish shopping....

And Enjoy the Season!

Thanks for stopping by!
What are you up to today?

It's gonna be one of those days....

I've been kind of "behind" on my decorating this year.
Several reasons really.
So many crazy things have happened this year.
But, we finally got the lights on the tree on Sunday.
Oddly, we had several strands missing
and had to go out and buy more.
I kind of think the tree is pretty with just the lights!

Standing in the kitchen talking with Mallory
before she heads off for school, we hear this
delicate Swoosh....

 not a creature in sight....
to blame this on!

 It just fell!
It could be pretty, a tree decorated on the floor.
Okay, maybe not!

My Angel landed on the couch....
Thankfully!
She's been with us 24 yrs and watches
over us every year at Christmas time.

 Face down, but safe!

It is a tall tree....
just short of 11 ft. tall.
So, it will have to lay there until
the hubs gets Home.

Have you ever had this happen?
I'm thinking we might just want to wire it to the wall.
We've had to do that before.
At least it wasn't all decorated!

Hope your Tree is standing Tall....
and stays that way!
Have a Delightful day!

Thanks to ALOT of help from a Friend....

This is mostly a test post!
I have had so much trouble lately with posting pictures on my
blog, I even got to the point of wondering if it was worth
Blogging anymore!

I cried for HELP to a friend here in blogland.
I call her my friend, although I've never met her in person.
She's one of my "reader's" and I can always count on her to
at least make herself known by leaving a sweet comment no matter
how dull and boring my post may be.

Anyway, she spent a few hours emailing back and forth
with me Friday night answering my questions and helping me
to better understand what I was doing wrong or at least
could change what I was doing to fix my problem.

She taught me how to re-size my pictures
BEFORE
uploading them somewhere.
Then you can make them larger when you do your post
IF needed....like the above photo.

OR leave them alone and that's fine too!

 How am I doing Vee?
My blogland Friend!

I like BIG pictures!
I just don't like to have to "pay" for them!

I saw this idea of the melted snowman at a craft sale a few weeks ago.
I copied!

Hope your having a delightful weekend.  I started decorating
yesterday and today my Sweet Hubby is sanding our
stairway  for a project I have yet to post about.
Imagine the huge amount of sanding dust Snow covering
everything in my Home!

Thanks for stopping by!
