Good Morning!
I'm having trouble lately coming up with anything that
might be remotely interesting to the few readers I have.
So, I either don't post at all and lose people....
or I post about mundane things and hope someone out there
finds the little I have to say or show with pictures
interesting to at least leave a
Hi back!
I do appreciate those of you that at least say
Hi!

I know comments shouldn't be important....
but I think we all really do enjoy opening our blogs in the morning
or evening and thru out the day
to see who may have stopped by to visit....
I sure do!

Lately I've just been trying to
~freshen things up~
around our Home.  This heat has me about worn down
trying to keep my Home in some order of cleanliness.
We do not have central air and some days it is miserable.
I'm sure a few of you out there know exactly what I mean.
So, I try to take advantage of what cool air there may be in the
early hours of the morning between 7:00 & 11:00 to do the most
important tasks: bed making, vacuuming, dishes....
you know what I mean.

It's hard at times to take time for myself....
like sit at my desk and come up with a post, check on
other blogs that I enjoy and try to get some motivation
to either post more, or to get cleaning around my Home.
You all seem to have it so together....
how do you do it?

I love my little space here!
It's messy and organized at the same time.
Funny how in your space you know where everything is.
I've made it comfortable for me.
I recently bought the pillow in the picture above at HomeGoods.
It is down filled and comfortable for my back on this hard chair.
The bird theme fits....
I had the choice of black or green.
Green fits into my color scheme so it was the obvious choice.

This morning I am enjoying a bit of
~Nutella & Peanut Butter~
on my toast along with my coffee.
Have you tried that?
It's a bit like eating a Reese's....
Yum!

My desk is positioned so I can look across the
family room and out the window
the sun is coming out and hitting the rock border just so
This picture doesn't do it justice, it's much prettier.
Notice the fan pointed in my direction....

 I found some
~burlap like~
wired ribbon the other day at WalMart.  I used it on the basket
on our front door (the first picture shown) and had enough left
to add a little something to this note holder above my desk.
I am still tweaking the wall space above my desk and trying to
not go over board where it looks cluttered.  Some of you out there
have arraignments on your walls down....
me not so much!

Again, loving anything birds like I do....
I found this ceramic bird at our local BIG box store
last weekend and couldn't resist adding him to my
collection of sorts.  He was clearanced, which my hubby
always appreciates.  Originally $19.99, marked down to $9.99
and I got him for something like $6.75....
He has a timer light in him...

 Every night about 9 p.m.
he starts to glow for about 4 hours.
Adds a bit of ambiance to the mantle....
Don't you think?

And of course I have my desk surrounded with
birds and things I love.

I'm glad you stopped by....
Thank you all who stick by me
I do enjoy your visits....
If you have made it this far with today's post....
Please say Hi....
Thanks again for your visit!
Have a lovely Last day of July....
can you believe it?

Pack your bags....

The hubs said
as I opened my eyes a few Saturdays ago
just before my Birthday!
What??....what do you mean, pack my bags?
He told me he was taking me away for the day
and it involved an overnight stay....
But, he wouldn't say where or what we were doing!

It was a surprise....
IF you know me at all, you know....
I don't like surprises!
~He enjoys this~

So I did as I was told, not knowing what to expect
or what to pack.  He had the car loaded up with
everything we might need, including little beverages and
H'orderves for later!

We drove to the lakeshore something we haven't done in years.
We enjoy antiquing together and so our first stops
were at some of the local antique stores.  Most proved to be a bit pricey!
Good thing we don't mind just looking!

Then we headed into the little tourist town of
~South Haven~
I was amazed at the amount of people in this little town.
The shoppes were fun to look at, but again, a bit pricey
so we headed to lunch at a place he had heard about called
~Phils Bar & Grill~

The tables were covered in brown paper
and crayons were available on the tables
....fun for doodeling on!

The food was
~Excellent~
Hubs had a black and blue burger
and I had
a wrap with The Best red potato, potato salad....
It was Awesome!

Then we walked thru town to work off our lunch
and this little garden right in town drew us in....

This fudge shop called our name...
but we were good and resisted the urge.
~Picture only!~

Then we headed back out of town and stopped at a few
more antique shoppes.  This one made us turn around after passing
by it briefly.  It was loaded with architectural stuff....
~which we Love~

Lots of people pulled in after us.
See the Ice Cream bike?
$2800.00
We joked about buying it and fixing it up
for our youngest to ride around town and
sell ice cream.  She hasn't found a summer job yet,
and summer's winding down!
It would be cute though, don't you think?

As we headed down the road we came upon a sign
that drew us to the shore line again.
Felt Mansion Renovation....

~WOW~
This place is Gorgeous and Huge!

Parties can be booked here....
It was once a residence!
Stately entrance don't you think?

Lovely fountain area....

We had to check it out!
The water was the deepest blue I've ever seen!

Down the hill a bit was the
~Carriage House~

I wouldn't mind living in there!

Then we were off to our destination....
I still didn't know where we were going!

He had set up a surprise stay at the
~JW Marriott~
OMG....it is Gorgeous!
We were up on the 16th floor!

We had a corner room....
with a gorgeous view!

~The children's museum~

~President Ford's museum~

~Gorgeous Bathroom~
Someday we'd like to remodel our bathroom to be like this!
~We can dream can't we?~

And while your waiting for the elevator
look down, this is what you see!
Hope your not afraid of heights
~like me!~

Very nice!
Music playing and people enjoying drinks and appetizers!

Beautiful night to take in the town!

Gorgeous view from our room at night!
(except for the flash)

I have to say....
This was THE BEST birthday EVER!
By Far the most
~Romantic~
Mostly because my hubby planned it all
just for me!  I Love You Honey!

I guess Surprises aren't so bad afterall!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shed Update Time....

Wow, I didn't realize that I haven't given an update on the shed
progress since May 11th.  We've come a long way since then
given the heat and humidity that we've had to deal with so
far this summer.  It has held my hubby us back!  The last thing
you want to be doing is construction work on a 100 degree day,
BUT, ....he has put in a little bit of time as he could
with the heat to get this shed done.  This week he is on vacation
and has gotten a lot done so far this week, and it is only
Wednesday!  We have been getting up between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
to get as much done as possible before the Sun comes out and heats
things up!  Then it's miserable!
I left you last at this.....

this is how it looked last post
May 11th....
Wow, he has done Alot since then!

Obviously the rest of the roof was put on....

Then he decided it needed a dormer....

it's all in the details....

Yep, there are windows....

Keep in mind, this is NOT a kit and he has no plans.....
it's all in his head!
Love him for that!

I'm sure I have a picture before this one....
but, Oh Well!
The green shingles were on the roadside marked....
~FREE~
Can't beat that!

Had to go into the neighbors yard yesterday to do
the backside.  It was Smokin' Hot....
hubby insisted on getting it done....
I looked a bit silly with my red umbrella standing on the
bottom of the ladder to make sure it didn't slide down on him....
but it kept the sun off my neck!
(notice there are no pictures of that!)

Looking sooo Good!
He has worked sooo hard today
in the sun and the heat!
It is looking so cute, ahem, Good!
I can't wait to see it done!

We Love to put up little teasers to see what it
~will look like when done~
Kinda....
So Far, So Good!
Don't~cha Think?

My Little Corner....

This is My little space....
when we repainted our room last fall
I claimed this corner to set up my desk.
I tweaked it today....
by that I mean cleaned up the mess that I had accumulated
I don't know about you but I have a paper problem.
I seem to collect piles of papers....
just in case I need them for some reason.
I Usually Don't!!

So this morning I got it looking like this....
which is clean for me!

I still have a desire to hang more stuff on the walls....
but, not sure what to do yet.
Hmm....
I have a file cabinet next to my desk, so I don't really need
hanging file space.  Although that could hold all my
papers I seem to think I need until I realize I don't!

and of course I like to have some of my
~Favorite Things~
right where I can see them....
Like this new little Birdie,
given to me by my new friend
~Bonnie~
Thanks Again My Friend
You've touched my Heart!!

 The sweet little
Keep Calm And Garden On sign
and the box of Birdie matches
was from my Hillary
for my Birthday, Thank you Hill!!
(still need to post about that ~my birthday~....it was The Best!)

 This space looks empty...
~to me~
but, then again I'm use to my laptop being Opened!

Yep, I love Birds
and Pretty Things
Like signs with Words....

What are some things you like around your
Special Spot?

Thanks for stopping by!

This Beautiful Girl....

is 22 years Old
Today!!

Happy Birthday
We LOVE You!!
(don't lose take too much money at to the casino)

Raindrops Keep Falling.....

Please!!
We need you to....
like the rest of the nation we have not had rain
in so long.  Our grass is brown, our trees are drooping,
so when I heard it start, ever so softly about
2:00 a.m.
I smiled....

I laid there awake planning my quiet morning
enjoying my new magazine that arrived in the
mail yesterday with a cup of coffee on my porch.

I had to turn on the light....

I sat so I could watch the rain drop on the steps.
Funny when you take such pleasure in
the simplest things!

This is what we have to look forward to.

My daughter and her friends don't mind.
If you can believe it they are tired of
Swimming!
Yep, the only way to get cool, has been in the pool.
You can only swim so much....
Thank you rain!

Yep, the perfect spot to
take a few quiet Cool moments
to myself!

Are you getting the weather you want today?
Thanks for stopping by!
