New Year....

New kitchen sink!
Yep, that's what I wanted for Christmas and that's what I got. Odd I know, but I'm happy! Now we have to decide on a faucet. The sink is stainless steel. My appliances are stainless steel also, but my lighting in the kitchen is this, what they call "Tuscan" bronze finish. I really like it and the ceiling light above our kitchen island, which is where my sink is, is in the bronze finish.

So I am leaning toward bronze for the faucet, something like this....

my second choice would be, of course, a stainless faucet something like this....

but I'm thinking that is way too much stainless for me! I have seen in magazines stainless sinks with the bronze finish faucets, so that is probably what we will go with. Any of you out there with a stainless sink and a bronze faucet? I 'd love to hear if you are pleased with the look or not!

In The Meadow We Can Build A Snowman....

What's missing?

~Arms~

No School today, so it was the perfect day to build a snowman!
If you haven't done this in years....like me, I highly recommend it.
It was really fun and it gave us something to do together to create a memory!
Just in time for the Blizzard they are predicting!

Bee Skeps and Snowmen....

I know....odd!
But what do you do when you want to change it up for the season?
You pretend you don't see the Bee Skeps!
This is the before picture. This bathroom has been this way
for at least the last 6 years. I am growing, sadly, alittle tired of it
BUT, on the other hand, don't know what else to do to it.
BECAUSE....a part of me still likes it!

So I started hauling out and packing away most all of the
Bee Skeppy stuff....

and bringing in some Snowmen....
and women!

a Christmas goose, made by my husband, fills a huge gap.
And I, for now, kind of like the little landing area just lit up.

This Snowman was stitched by my mom several years ago when her eyesight was better.
I wrapped it around a little dowel with wire and hung it.
I like how it looks!
And then I added the little Dollar General birdhouse.

There is this huge pipe right in the way of the whole bathroom....
not much can be done with that. Next to it is a cabinet, the only place I could put
a tree, for mood lighting! It looks better in person. I don't know what to do with that
cord coming down from above....so we don't see it

(kind of like the Bee Skeps you don't see either)

Then above the commode are my two favorite little Snow people, with my little Snow manger picture. Above that is a Snowman made by one of my daughter's when they were in elementary, love putting that out.

And this is just a straight on shot, of our little half bath off the kitchen.
It is what it is....but, I do like it!

Now head over to Between Naps on the Porch:

It's A Cloche Party....

And I only have two!

This was my first one and it was a gift to myself!
I have it on my kitchen counter filled with glass red and gold ornaments.

They make the snowmen so happy....me too!

Another gift to myself....
I seem to do that sometimes, do you?
This one has Frosty the Snowman inside. Frosty was my husband's decoration growing up. It used to be a light he said, but it must have gotten very hot because there is a small hole in his back leg. I have seen reproductions that are very close to this one. The little snowmen are my salt and pepper shakers from Dollar General last year.
Hope you enjoyed my cloche's!
Please stop by and enjoy the others when you get the chance at

Cherished Ornaments....

Do you have those cherished ornaments that go on your tree every year?
We do and I thought I would share just few today!

This is where it all started....
Our First Ornament as a married couple!

This little baby in the basket is our
firstborn daughter Amanda's.
Given to us, for her, by her Great Grandma.

These porcelain shoes, were given to us for our second born daughter
Hillary, by her grandparents. I am always extremely careful which branch
these go on because they are on the heavy side....and very fragile!
And this little ornament, was purchased by me for our
third...and final daughter Mallory. The first year the moon and the star
glowed, but it is almost 15 yrs old now, so not so much anymore.
But we still cherish it!

We have had this Angel on every tree since the first year, in our first Home, with our first born daughter. Two years ago our tree fell over and you cannot see, but the top of her head is missing a piece. We crazy glued her back together and she still watches over our tree....right where she belongs!

This large piece of candy was made by our youngest in first grade I believe.

Santa and Mrs. Claus hung on our tree for as long as I can remember
growing up. Now I have them and they are on my tree every year!

I remember my mom taking us to get an ornament every year.
This lollipop is still with me and has the original tag on it.
In very small writing it says....
Mr. Christmas 1968....I am dating myself there, oh well!
This is a tradition I try and do every year with our girls!

And this ice cream cone is another I picked out, no tag
but I would guess the same. And the candy cane was another I grew up with
on our tree as kids.

This is our memory ornament for Great Grandma.
She is the only Great our girls have every met and they are the only Great Grandkids
she every had. This is a cherished ornament, because it keeps her
memory alive. She loved her granddaughter's!

And one last thing I started just a few years ago. I don't know if any of you do this, but I enjoy putting some of my favorite cards in my tree randomly. It always adds a bit of Homeyness to the tree and then another memory is made!

Thank you for stopping by today!
I hope your Holiday decorating is going well. I would love to see and hear about some of your favorite ornaments on your tree!
