I Am So Proud....

of myself!! Is that wrong? I have ALWAYS had my Hillary change my header because she could do a collage with no problem. And for the life of me....I could NOT figure out what she was doing! Well, I did today (because she's away at college)! And I like it....no I LOVE it! Why...because I did it! And oh yeah, my hubby made the signs and the wonderful fall displays in front of our HOME! Thanks Honey!
You make me smile!

Tryin' & Tweakin'....

I love how night pictures look! I think it looks more Homey and inviting, plus it just adds so much more, at least to me. But, I haven't quite mastered how to get that look and not have my pictures look blurry and on the orangey side. This is the Tryin' part!

This is a shot of my entry area. I have a very narrow area from the front door and it runs right along our staircase going upstairs. There's enough room for a small table, I have baskets stacked there and an old dining room chair next to the table. Hopefully, it's inviting!

This is a straight shot into our "fancy living room", you know the kind that usually only get used on holidays! There is no full wall to have any piece of furniture up against it. One wall of windows, one wall with 3 seperate windows and the fireplace, and 2 walls have huge archways. So I have to try and make a sitting area in the middle and make it cozy!

And here is the tweakin' part. My cupboard again. With my Harvest Festival purchases from this weekend. The painted board with the house on it, love it! The Sweet Annie wreath, smells wonderful, again love it! And the candle holder coming off the side is prim red and was only $3.00, gotta love that! I put a really short candle and a berry ring on it. The candle looks like a little light bulb in the picture, because I am having trouble getting clear shots. Oh Well!
My hubby and I had a wonderful time this weekend! He has been busy today decorating around the yard with cornstalks, sumac and pumpkins. I will post those pictures another day!
Hope your weekend was a relaxing one!

Hibiscus & Mums....

My Hibiscus is beautiful again this year!
Though the flower is not as big as usual!

But my mums....still amaze me with their size!
I bought 12 of these about 4 yrs ago, on clearance and very small, for .25 cents each. I have lost a few, due to weather, ladders, etc. But the ones that have survived keep coming back and I have to say....they stop traffic sometimes. I may have occasionally, at one time or another, fertilized them. But typically just water and Mother Nature!
I just love the pumpkin color!

This is one plant....
But they seem too early this year also!

Here's a view from another direction, lining the walk in front of our Home.

I picked this banner up at Menards a few weeks ago. I thought it was too cute!
It also tells you what my hubby and I will be doing this weekend.
What about you?
Have a wonderfully fun weekend whatever your plans!

Sad & Happy....

Approximately 2 weeks ago our daughter had to have a new computer system put in her car. So she had to use my 97 Dodge Caravan for transportation while at college so she could get back and forth to her job.

I lovingly called this van my Homey Hauler and that is what she was referred to by our girls friends also. You see that van and I have been thru many things together and with all of her bumps, dings and rust, I still loved her!

She had two 80 to 100 foot trees fall on her 1 year apart, blowing out both front and back windows, completely covering her and throwing glass everywhere. Drawing neighbors each time to see what happened to our van, not believeing that we still had this vehicle! One neighbor as a storm was approaching last year, jokingly called asking if my van was okay? It was, she withstood that storm!

She made it up the side of a mountain during a Spring Break trip to Kentucky, when we all thought we were going right off the side of that mountain....she got us there! She hauled many Christmas trees longer then her frame home so we could enjoy the holiday. Last year almost losing her driver door in the process, a story I am not to repeat!

But, that last trip north proved to be more then she could handle and we had to say Goodbye to my friend! I did so enjoy driving her!

But, having to have transportation and quick, my husband and I spent a good two days searching and I now have a new friend....only Homey Hauler just doesn't fit! Oh Well, something will come to me!

I have to say.....
I kind of like her too!

A Cabinet....

Found abandoned and full of oil cans, old tools and unidentified nests....

Now, cleaned and loved!
(No luck getting the bright orange paint off. Any ideas welcomed! Still a bit of oil odor too.)

Yard Sale Finds....

I lucked out the other day on my way to run an errand. I had no idea about this HUGE sale going on right outside my town. It was one of those things where you really don't have the time or shouldn't really stop....but, you just have to! So I turned the car around and went back and I am so glad I did! There were treasures, unfortunately I only had $5.00 with me.

This hooked chair pad was only .50 cents

I picked up 4 of these "like new" fall garlands, with the original tags still on them at $29.99 each.
I got them for $1.00 each! There were more ;( but I only had $5.00 and no time to go back to an ATM for more money. Turns out it was perfect because I put 3 of them on my dining room window ledge and one on my china cabinet.
Love it!

But what I was most excited about was this wire basket/cart. I am assuming it is an old laundry basket, at least that is what I will be using it for. I think I am going to spray paint it black. Right now it is just rusty dirty looking. But what do you expect for .25 cents!
